What I’m Up To
Hobbies: Small site web development, Worldbuilding, and Linocut
Hobbies
Web Development
Obviously this site is one of my web dev projects, which has been a treat and joy to build up and fill with content. However, I am working on a couple other sites too, primarily related to my other creative projects. The big one is aeropolitik.org, a home for my Aeropolitik worldbuilding project, inspired in style by old thematic documents and ephemera like newspapers, processing forms, etc.
Worldbuilding
As a hobbyist worldbuilder at heart, I’m always working on projects and thinking about the intricacies of how my imaginary people live their lives. My two projects of interest right now are:

I’m hoping to eventually write stories set in this world (two are in various outlining stages) but those have been slow going. This project also has a website that I’m working on! (See above)
Glowborn – Working title, this is an old project that is being totally reworked revolving around a magical verisimilar world to ours where an arcane Chernobyl-like event has happened, leading to a Zone cutoff from the rest of the world. It’s here that the Misthelenki, a race of tiny manufactured creatures given life by the accident, carve out their own civilization in the ruins of the old world.
Linocut

Life
Cat Dad

Being just over a year old, he’s still weening off of his juvenile energy, which can be a bit much at times. However, he’s also been an anchor for my wife and myself since we got him. My wife endearingly calls me his “cat father” in a very formal tone, and we give him such over-formal reverence in our day-to-day lives–deserving of his name, as well as the princely attitude he has acquired.
Work
Automation Scripts
I’ve been working on quite a lot of automation for work, recently. Being a small company with a small budget, a lot of tasks that would normally be automated by expensive software and systems at larger institutions end up being handled manually in the office. I’m hoping to alleviate some of that, especially for my own responsibilities, by creating reusable Python scripts that can be used to do things like setup courses, create Zoom links, update course content, etc.
